Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I am currently living with someone other than my parent, what do I need to do?
A. You will need a Caregiver Form (available in the office) if you are “temporarily” being cared for by someone other than your parent or legal guardian. The Caregiver Form is ONLY TO BE USED in the event a parent is incarcerated, terminally ill or out of the country (temporarily). Other cases would require a court appointed guardianship thru the court system.

Q. My parent and myself reside with someone else. We don't have a gas or electric bill with our name on it, what do I do?
A. You must have a Residency Form (available in the office) on file. The person with whom you and your parent/guardian are living with MUST fill out this form. You must also provide a gas/electric bill showing the name of the person with whom you are renting a room from. In addition, please note that a home caller will be visiting you at your residence to verify that you are truly living at the resident listed. If you are not found to be residing at the given address, you will be removed from Katella and sent to your school of residence.

Q. I went to Alternative Ed. at the end of the school year '07. I want to come back to Katella, what do I do?
A. You must meet with an Administrator to be sure you are on track to return to Katella. If you are coming from Community Day School etc. you should have met with your Assistant Principal or Counselor there and given a copy of your transcripts indicating you are now on track to graduate. Please come prepared!!

Q. I'm going to be on vacation during registration. How can i get my packet?
A. Anyone can pick your packet up for you, as long as they can show proof of your address.

Q. I can pick up my packet but I will be gone during the dates to return the paperwork. What can I do?
A. Return your paperwork when you get back from vacation. Our master schedule is already set up and your classes are already in place. There won’t be a problem with your schedule because you are on vacation and unable to attend on the appropriate day.
