Katella High School Policy Pages

Dear Parents,

Our goal is to create a rigorous academic environment where all children can learn. Your son or daughter is here to get an education in an environment that is safe and free from distractions. 

I understand that registration is a tedious process and that you have many forms to read, sign and return.  This packet is of particular importance.  Please take time to sit down with your son/daughter and read the pages in this policy packet.   Also, please initial and date the “Check List” page and return it when registering.  Keep the policy pages in your files at home for future reference.

Why do we have a Policy Packet?

In surveys across the nation, parents cite safety and communication as major concerns with schools.  My goal is to directly and effectively communicate, through these Policy Pages, some of the basic issues that affect the day-to-day operation of the school, and the school’s position on certain issues.

Policies take the bias out of decision making and create a system that is fair and equitable for everyone. These policies provide a consistent application of school rules for all students.  Hundreds of school situations and conversations with parents and students have shaped the development of these policies.  These are issues that occur many times throughout a typical school year.  My goal is to make every student and parent aware of the policies of Katella High School.

Your initials on the “Check List Page” indicate that you have read and understand the policies and consequences.  Your support of these policies is appreciated.
