JROTC
My Freshmen year I was clueless of what high school had to offer a me. My friend told me about this program where you can substitute P.E. for an elective. He told me it was JROTC. I joined the program. Well to make it short, the program grew on me. It help me realize that I had something to offer in high school. Major Edison Guillermo (retired) help me understand the true meaning of leadership, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. The lesson he teachs every single student is a piece he gives off to them. He taught me and helped me open my eyes to the possibilities that I could have. The way he showed me to run towards them is "take everything step by step," "NEVER GIVE UP! No matter what the situation there is always a way," and "remember Murphy's Law: what may go wrong, will go wrong." The Major is more than an instructor. He IS JROTC. Every student that walks out of his class walks with a future that he has help them reach. The day I graduated. I thanked him for every lesson he taught me. I am currently in the United States Military following MY dream. Till now he and the program are still alive. Now, as I walk, I remember the memories that he left me with. Thank you JROTC. Thank you Major Edison Guillermo (Retired)
